The event type editor is a tool used to create and update event types, allowing you to customize your meeting settings, set availability, and configure automated notifications.
For example, you can:
- Create a new event type.
- Update the settings and availability of existing event types.
- Manage your automated notifications for your event type.
Before you begin

Only owners, admins, and group admins can edit event types for other users, unless additional event type permissions are granted. To learn more, check out Event type permissions overview.

You can create an event type after completing the basic settings: Event name, Duration, Location, Availability, and Host(s). More settings are available by clicking More options at the bottom of the event type editor.
What's new?
- Max meetings: Set daily, weekly, and/or monthly meeting limits at the event type level.
- Updated event type editor: Quickly create and edit event types with an easier-to-use event type editor. Access essential settings with the first click, explore optional customizations with the second, and easily preview your events.
- Buffers: Set buffers to avoid back-to-back meetings, which can now be edited or deleted from scheduled meetings on your Meetings page.

Apply to/Copy from: Set your available hours in one event type and Apply to or Copy from others in the Availability section of your event type editor.
- If you formerly used multiple schedules to manage custom availability across event types, use the apply to/copy from feature to create sets of availability that differ from your default schedule.

- Free/busy rules: Easily prioritize your most important events by allowing invitees to book over less critical meetings.
Best practices
For a user:
- To make an event secret or change the language, select the settings gear icon on the event type card from the Home page.
- To view your booking page preview, open the event type editor and select Preview at the bottom of the page.
- If you have multiple event types where your availability differs from your default schedule, you can set your hours once and apply them to/from other event types.
