How to automate group provisioning

Automated group provisioning uses SCIM to place users into specific groups in Calendly. This setup mirrors your company’s structure and makes it easy to assign the right event types to each team.

For example, you can:

  • Automatically assign sales teams specific event types.
  • Organize users by department, job title, or region.

This feature builds on SCIM user provisioning. Learn more about setting up SCIM user provisioning.

Before you begin

  • Group provisioning is available for accounts using SCIM and SSO.
  • You’ll need admin access in Calendly and your IdP (like Okta, Azure, or OneLogin).
  • Make sure users are already being added through SCIM.

Turn on group provisioning in Calendly

Export your user list

  1. Go to the Admin center in Calendly.
  2. Select Users in the left sidebar.
  3. Export the list of Active and/or Pending users.
  4. Open the file and find the column called Identity Provider Group.
    • This column shows the group values from your identity provider. These values are case-sensitive.

Map group values

  1. Go to the Admin center in Calendly.
  2. Select Login.
  3. Open the User provisioning tab.
  4. Select Step 2: Map to groups (Optional).
  5. Turn on Mapping attributes to open the Group Mapping table.
  6. Copy each group value into the Value in Identity Provider field.
  7. Choose the matching Calendly group for each value.

Note: Depending on your SSO, you might need to create a new attribute for group mapping.

Preview and save your mappings

  1. Choose whether to apply changes to existing users.
  2. Select Preview changes.
  3. Review your changes.
  4. Select Save and continue.
