How to connect Google Meet

For steps on how to connect your Google Meet account, view How to schedule a meeting with video conferencing.

Note for multi-user Calendly organizations:

Users must individually connect their Google account
Users must connect their Google Calendar before they can schedule personal or team meetings. Admins cannot connect a Google Meet account on users' behalf. If you're a Calendly admin, feel free to share How to schedule a meeting with video conferencing with your users.

Dial-in numbers

By default, Google Meet adds a U.S. dial-in number and a web conferencing link to calendar invitations.

To use international numbers, you must subscribe to Google's G-Suite Enterprise or G Suite Enterprise for Education. If you select multiple countries, Google adds a link in the invitee notification that displays dial-in options for other countries.

Troubleshooting Google Meet

I receive an error when setting my location to Google Meet.
Error message:
"You must configure your calendar connections to push events to a Google Calendar to host Google Meet web conferences on your events." Google Meet error.png

How to resolve it:
Make sure your Google Calendar is connected and set as the default Add to calendar option on your Calendar Sync page. You won't be able to use Google Meet unless your Google Calendar is selected as the Add to calendar option.

Beta

We've improved availability management and the event type editor, now in public beta for select users. If you're in the beta, check out this article to learn more.

For users in the beta, you can find your calendar settings on the Availability page in the left side menu.

Your invitees are receiving unwanted Google Meet links in their invitations.

Your Google Calendar may be set to automatically add Google Meet links to all calendar events. Follow these steps to adjust this setting.

For users with a free Google account:

  1. Sign in to your Google Account and open your Google Calendar settings.
  2. Scroll down to Event settings.
  3. Uncheck Automatically add Google Meet video conferences to events I create.

For paid G-Suite users:
You must be a G-Suite Admin to make this change. For steps on adjusting these settings, your G-Suite Admin can reference Google's article for Control video conferencing for Calendar events.
