Overview
Learn how to create an event type in Calendly and explore the different event types available to customize your scheduling experience. For more details on all event types, check out this article.
Step 1 – Create an event type

From the Calendly Home page, select the + Create button and choose your event type.

Choose which type of event you are looking to host.
- One-on-One: Good for coffee chats, 1:1 interviews, etc.
- Group: Good for webinars, online classes, group training, etc.
- Round Robin: Good for distributing incoming sales leads to multiple team members.

Admin template: Good for owners and admins to assign and edit event types in bulk.
- Selecting this option will prompt you to choose between a One-on-one and Group event type to proceed. For more information on setting up managed event types, see How to create and assign managed events.
- To create a Collective event type, One-off meeting, or Meeting poll, select More ways to meet.

Choose which type of event you are looking to host.

Once you decide on an event type, your event type editor will open on the righthand side of the screen. Here, you can set up the following:
- Event name: The name of your event.
- Event color: The color of your event.
- Duration: How long the event will be.

Location: How and where both parties will meet at the scheduled time.
- Video conferencing: If you want to use video conferencing as your event location, but haven't connected your tool yet, follow the steps in this article.
- Availability: When this event type will be available to schedule.
- Host(s): Who will be hosting the event
- Select Create.
Next, you can manage your other event type settings by selecting More options at the bottom of the event type editor.
- Description
- Limits and buffers
- Free/busy rules
- Booking page options
- Invitee form
- Payment
- Notifications and workflows
- Confirmation page

Step 2 - Preview what your invitees see
You can preview your live booking page by selecting Preview at the bottom of the event type editor. This preview reflects what invitees will see when they access your booking link.
Step 3 – Share your event
At the top of your event type Preview, you'll see the following options for sharing your event:
- Copy link
- Add times to email
- Share
