How to set up basic notifications

Keep your invitees informed with basic email and text reminders before and after events.

Before you begin

  • Who can use this: Owners, admins, and users can set up basic notifications for their event types.

  • Legacy Essentials users: You can use default email notifications only.

  • Need info on text messages? See Send text messages with Workflows.

Enable or disable basic notifications

  1. Go to your Event types page and select the event you want to update.
  2. Scroll down and select More options.
  3. Expand the Notifications and workflows section.
  4. Find the notification you want to update, then select the  Edit_dots.png three dots next to it.
  5. Toggle the notification On or Off.
  6. Select Save changes.

Personalize email and text notifications

If you're on the Standard plan or higher, you can customize:

  • The subject line of a basic email notification
  • The body of a basic email or text message
  • The dynamic variables used in a message

To edit a notification message:

  1. From the Event types page, select your event.
  2. Select More options, then expand Notifications and workflows.
  3. Find the notification you want to change and select the Edit_dots.png three dots > Edit.
  4. Update the message subject or body as needed.

To add a dynamic variable:

  1. From the Event types page, select your event.
  2. Select More options, then expand Notifications and workflows.
  3. Find the notification you want to change and select the Edit_dots.png three dots > Edit.
  4. Select + Variables.
  5. Choose the variables you want to include.
  6. Select Save and close.
