Learn how to set up basic notifications in Calendly to keep invitees informed before and after events.

Before you begin
- Owners, admins, and users can set up basic reminder and follow-up notifications for their event types.
- Users on the legacy Essentials plan have access to default email notifications only.
- For general information on SMS text message notifications and how they are sent, see Send text messages with Workflows.
Enable or disable basic notifications
- From the Event types page, select the event you wish to update.
- Select More options at the bottom of the screen.
- Expand the Notifications and workflows section.
- Locate the type of notification you wish to turn on/off and select the three vertical dots on the right hand side.
- Select the toggle to turn them On/Off.
- Select Save changes.
Personalize email and text notifications
Users on the Standard plan and higher can use these steps to update:
- the subject of a basic email notification
- the body of a basic email notification or text message
- the dynamic variables in a basic email notification or text message
- From the Event types page, select the event you wish to update.
- Select More options at the bottom of the screen.
- Expand the Notifications and workflows section.
- To personalize the message title/subject or body:
- Select the three vertical dots on the right hand side of the notification you wish to update, then Edit.
- Adjust the message title/subject or body.
- To add a dynamic variable:
- Select the three vertical dots on the right hand side of the notification you wish to update, then Edit.
- Select + Variables.
- Choose the dynamic variable(s) you'd like to use.
- Select Save and close.
