With a Calendly account, you can track conversions directly within Calendly by adding UTM (Urchin tracking module) parameters to your scheduling links. Use these steps to build your link to track conversions:
-
First, define which UTM codes you want to append to your link. You can use any of the following codes:
-
UTM Source: This is where you can label what site the booked meeting came from. For instance, if you have a campaign through Facebook, you could append “utm_source=facebook” to the link.
-
UTM Medium: This is where you can label where your link came from. For instance, if you used your link in your email, you can append “utm_medium=email” to the link.
-
UTM Campaign: This is where you can name the campaign. If you have many links posted in different places, this is a UTM code that can connect each one. For instance, if you had a summer promotion you can append “utm_campaign=summer” to your links.
-
UTM Content: If you have multiple links to the same destination, you can use the UTM content code to see where people are clicking to scheduling meetings most. For instance, you can use “utm_content=header” for a scheduling link in your website’s header and “utm_content=footer” for a scheduling link in your website’s footer.
-
UTM Term: This is a way to track specific keywords for Pay-Per-Click ads. For instance, if you pay for an ad to rank for the key words “Atlanta realty”, you should add “utm_term:atlanta+realty” to your link.
-
-
Once you’ve defined what UTM codes you’d like to use, you can append them to the end of your Calendly link by adding a '?' after the link.
-
Then, add your UTM codes using ‘&' to separate each new code. (i.e. utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook)Use ‘%20’ to add spaces to your codes (i.e. utm_campaign=”summer%20promotion is a UTM code for a summer promotion campaign). Your link could look something like this:
www.calendly.com/yourlink?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=”summer%20promotion -
To track conversion of these links, from your Home page select Meetings.
-
Select Filter. Then, under Tracking IDs, select All IDs and enter the UTM code(s) you’d like to track.
Once you’ve filtered your scheduled meetings, you can export the data to a CSV file you can use in a spreadsheet.
Note: There is a 255 character limit for UTM values. Any values that exceed this limit may not be passed.
