Let me start by saying I love almost everything about your service and how easy it makes the process of setting appointments between people. I'm new to Calendly and I was very surprised that you didn't have the very basic functionality to Reschedule or Cancel an event AFTER it has occurred. Is there a reason why this hasn't been included in the functionality in past, new releases? I've looked through other Idea posts and have seen several mentions of this from other Users and how they would like to see this functionality, as well. In fact, I saw a response from Chris Robb in Mar, 2018, that references the same request back in 2017 (so this goes back at least 2 years, but I'm sure longer). Chris said: "I agree with buyapowa and her original post from 2017. There needs to be a function that will allow you to reschedule an appointment that was set to occur in the past. People cancel or don't show up after the fact. As a user, I would like to be able to edit or reschedule these appointments. If we can't delete them, maybe we can hide them or add a note or status that indicates the appointment was not held. Thanks."
I sent the following in an email to Customer Service, yesterday, and they said to Post here, so that's what I'm doing: "Why can't someone reschedule their event after it has passed? I would guess this is something that happens often with all of your customers who use Calendly and we all would appreciate you modifying this aspect of your "Rescheduling" functionality. It is a normal occurrence in my business (recruiting) when I have a call scheduled and the person either forgets or gets tied up when we are supposed to connect and we need to reschedule after the appt time has passed. Currently someone doesn't have the ability to reschedule after the event has passed and I have to send them a link to my schedule, as if they were a new contact, which means they have to go through the process of filling out their contact and any other info that was filled out for the initial appt, again, which is inefficient and a hassle for people. Thoughts from Management and your Tech Team?"
I received a canned response and replied: "That really is not a customer service friendly response … I already knew what your rep responded with, the issue is that your Management and/or Tech Team need to change this functionality within Calendly. I’ve got a bit of a Tech background and it shouldn’t be difficult to retain the rescheduling functionality on your servers after the appointment has passed. At least for a period of time, like 7, 14 or 30 days and then have it default to the current message that pops up saying: “Sorry, the event you’re looking to reschedule is in the past. Can you please elevate this concern to Upper Management? Thank you."
I'm asking the Community to please take action by "Voting" for this and, if you have a few seconds, write a quick comment so Calendly understands the importance of having this basic functionality. Thank you all!
