    Hello all,

Have you tried to add alerts to your calendar events like seen here with Google Calendar? Also curious if you have utilized our email or test reminders seen here?

    Best,

    Hannah at Calendly

    Hi Tanya,

Thank you for submitting this idea! There are a number of ways we are trying to improve reminders/alerts so this is very helpful.

I'm in complete agreement here!  We recently switched to O365 and we noticed that the alerts on that calendar are really not effective.  On google calendar, there was a pop-up alert that would stop what you were working on and force you to acknowledge it before moving.  Now that we're on a new system, I've had to reschedule multiple interviews due to team members not getting proper alerts.  It's made things much more difficult.  *As stated above, I'm referring to a calendar or pop-up alert as opposed to an email reminder.

Do you have a way where multiple customers at 1 time can book a call with me on Calendly?

Lets say for ex. I have a call scheduled with a client's CEO and CFO and I want both of them to get email reminders.

Where do I go to make this happen as right now I only see the ability for 1 person to get the reminder?

Yes! This is one of the biggest workflow flaws for a reminder app like Calendly. When an event is created Calendly should invite the calendly user and the invitee. Joshua sums it up well:

This would be an excellent feature. It seems like many of the meetings I schedule, people don't get alerted when the meeting starts. I have setup email alerts, but that's a bit more intrusive than I want to be.

Any progress, Calendly staff? @felix hu

Just had someone miss an appointment because there was no "10 minutes before" reminder.

My calendering app on my mac does automatically give me one, but didn't give them one (and it doesn't have one on my phone).

Not sure how you're setting up gmail calendar appointments (since I've sync'd my gmail) but it seems like you could just add a bit of code including a default 10 or 15 minute reminder (or better yet - let us choose that timing on our end).

I totally agree. If I had my choice I would remind them the Monday of the week of the call, the day before the call and 10-15 minutes before the call so people don't have to hunt for my email with my contact phone number. Boy, would that make life easier for me and my clients.

Is there a way to make this happen? It's all in my google calendar but I can't 'fix' it there either.

    Thank you

There are a lot of us who depend on our calendar's to remind us of meetings.  Sometimes we are in meetings all the time and don't have our calendar up or our emails or our texts.  Instead we depend on the alert that is synced across our phones and our computers.  And because these events get added randomly, we might not have a chance to catch it on our calendar because we haven't gone to our texts or emails.

For me, I use Google for my calendar, but when it syncs with my Apple Calendar app, the notifications to not transfer over.  From what I'm learning, it's just simply not supported.  Read the bottom of this article: https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/99358?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en

So the only work arounds I can think of are:

    1. Manually set alerts in my mac
    2. Set Google Calendar alerts to go off on my computer
    3. Move over to Google Calendar completely.

I use Mac and iOS and also use Google for all of my calenders… which are auto-synced into my Mac Calendar and my iPhone's Calendar. But I can not find any way for the events to automatically carry over the Alert into Google Cal when it is created through Clendly.

I have read a couple of the posts here about the "default 15 minute" reminder along with some of Hannah's not so transparent comments.  It appears there is some issue within Calendly favoring Google calendar over any Microsoft related calendars, especially since this issue is not new by any standard and has been festering within in these comment boards for years and has not been resolved...at all.  There may be a cure for the common cold before Calendly changes the default to something other than 15 minutes.  Your attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated by a number of your CUSTOMERS.  Thank you

This is so frustrating to only find out after switching over that such a basic feature still isn't available via Calendly. Years have passed. When will this be implemented? I just missed my first meeting that was posted through Calendly, so really disappointed.

I am in the same situation as the previous commenter - I just upgraded assuming this feature would be included so that I don't have to manually go in and add a notification in the meeting invite every time someone schedules time with me. The instances where I've forgotten to do that has resulted in me or my clients missing calls or being incredibly late.

How is it that users have been requesting this standard and essential feature for 4 years and it hasn't been added yet? Emails & texts are way too intrusive to use as meeting reminders, and many people have those turned off during meetings, but calendar notifications will always work. Is there an ETA on when this feature will be added to Calendly? This is really frustrating and frankly, embarrassing.

Oh wow - pretty crazy and disappointing to see that such a basic feature has not been added. I miss appointments due to the event not having a built in alert. In the world of continuous zoom calls, it is pretty standard for a calendar to alert you of an upcoming appointment!

I have to manually go into upcoming events to add an alert. I don't understand why this has not been implemented!?

For anyone struggling with this like I was and have iPhone here is the solve for fixing the default for iphone meetings.

To set a default alert, follow these three steps:
    1. Open Settings and scroll to Mail, Contacts, and Calendars. Select it.
    2. Scroll to the Calendars section, select Default Alert Times.
    3. Set your default alerts for each respective category.
