    Hi all,

Happy to let you know we've made some improvements to our Event Type descriptions! In addition to having longer descriptions, we've also added more formatting options. You can now include bolded, italicized, and hyperlinked text, as well as numbered and bulleted lists which will appear directly on your scheduling page for your invitees to see as they schedule with you. Check it out by editing any one of your event types.

    Best,
    Amanda at Calendly

    Hi,

Thanks for submitting this idea. There are a number of ways we are looking to expand on the current booking flow's features, so this is helpful to see your feedback.

Some additional context on this: Calendly's limits are so restrictive that even a super brief description of a Zoom call won't fit. See how I can't even add the last phone number in the screenshot below?

And that's with just US numbers. I also need to put numbers for international callers.

It's a waste of time to have to message back international meeting participants to give them access numbers for their respective countries.

The brand promise of Calendly is all about saving time, and right now your short text fields are creating a time sink for me.

Conceptually, this shouldn't be a hard fix.

If you're using a NoSQL database like MongoDB, it can easily handle text of up to 4MB. This is way more than anyone would type into Calendly; an entire novel is literally around 400k.

On the other hand, if you're using a SQL database, use an ALTER TABLE command to increase the maximum number of characters that your invite notes field can accept.

So, given how this is a complete mismatch with you're all about -- saving time -- and the simplicity of the solution, why do you put extreme limits on the amount of text in the description field of a meeting?

Is there any current update on the efforts to increase Instructions/Description text limits? I also find the limitations very restrictive. I love Calendly and people ask about what tool I use all the time so I love referring them over.

It's pretty silly that this field has a character limit.  Mostly because it is such a simple thing to fix. Please fix asap.

I would also love to hear about any update on the removal of character limit in the description field.

As was stated in other comments, the restriction is forcing us to send multiple mails when it could have been just one were it not for the restriction.

    Thank you.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE increase the character limit on the description field!!! This is making it difficult for us to comply with GDPR, as we need to include various privacy policies and alternative forms of booking.

We have "Demo" for Sales and "Training" for Support events. Our clients often get confused with which one to book. It would really help to be able to provide more clarity within the Description.

I can't believe this is going back 2 years and its still not fixed. I just signed up and started creating my first event. I can't more forward.

I just don't understand the restriction and the clear lack of not caring by taking 2 years to fix something that would be super beneficial.
