How to track Google Analytics in your Calendly embed

Learn how to track Google Analytics in your Calendly embed, ensuring accurate event tracking and insights directly from your website.

Before you begin

How it works

Google Analytics uses cookies and JavaScript to track invitees. For tracking to work, JavaScript must be enabled in your invitees' browsers. Invitee browser settings and security may limit the information tracked.

How to set up tracking in your Calendly embed

Step 1 – Set Up Google Analytics

Step 2 – Enable Calendly Google Analytics Integration

  1. Log into your Calendly account.
  2. Go to Integrations and find Google Analytics.
  3. Select Connect and enter your tracking ID (UA or GA4).

For more information on how to integrate Calendly and Google Analytics, see Calendly + Google Analytics

Step 3 – Add the Calendly Embed to Your Site

  1. Get the embed code from Calendly for your event or scheduling page.
  2. Insert the embed code into your website’s HTML where you want the form to appear.

For more information on how to embed Calendly on your website, see How to embed and customize Calendly on your website

Step 4 – Use UTM Parameters

  • Add UTM parameters to your Calendly link to track the source of traffic (e.g., campaign, medium, source) in Google Analytics.

For more information on source tracking with UTM parameters, see How to source track your Calendly embed with UTM parameters

Step 5 – Track Events in Google Analytics

  • In your Google Analytics dashboard, check the Events section to monitor user interactions with the Calendly embed (e.g., form submissions, button clicks).

Step 6 – Test the Integration

  • Visit the page with the Calendly embed, interact with the form, and verify the events appear in Google Analytics.

Note: Google Analytics may take 24-48 hours to process and display data after setting up the integration. However, real-time activity can be previewed immediately.

Invitees in countries with data privacy regulations

If any of your invitees are located in countries with data privacy regulation, they will see a banner in the embed, with the options to either accept or reject cookies. To learn more, please read Calendly cookie management and banner, Cookies FAQ, and GDPR FAQ.
