Customize event start times, availability increments and duration
IN THIS ARTICLE:
Event duration and availability increments
The event duration field lets you define how long the event will last. Your availability increments refers to how often your time slots appear. Both the event duration and availability increments can be altered, enabling you to further customize your events.
For example, if you set up a 60 minute event that starts every 30 minutes, your event start times will look like the following:
If an invitee schedules the 60 minute event for 9:30, then the next available time slot will be 10:30. Because the 60 minute event is from 9:30-10:30, the 10:00 time slot will disappear from the scheduling page, since it is now unavailable.
The default duration of a Calendly event is 15 minutes. You can update that in your Event Type settings page:
You can customize the how frequently your start times appear by setting availability increments. In your event type settings, select the box for "When can people book this event?" and scroll down to the Advanced Settings. Click the "Show availability in increments of" dropdown:
The availability increments allow you to set how often time slots appear, regardless of the event duration. For example, setting a 15 minute availability increment for a 30-minute meeting, your invitees can select:
- 9:45-10:15, etc.
Setting up custom time intervals
In some cases, you may need to offer time slots at custom start times. For example, on Mondays you would like to be available from 10:20am - 12:40pm AND 3pm - 5pm.
You can add time intervals to specific week days or dates while editing your availability. After clicking the day you would like to edit, choose whether to apply the custom intervals to recurring weekdays or only the specific date you selected.
Next, add a time interval.
Apply your settings and save.
Pro tip: Click and drag the bottom line of any time interval to modify its length.
