Installing the Outlook Plug-in

Before you begin

Compatible versions

The Outlook Plug-in is for Windows only and is not available for Mac. Calendly's Outlook desktop Plug-in works with:

  • Outlook 2007 or later
  • Windows XP or newer

Calendly's Outlook Plug-in is incompatible with versions downloaded from the Microsoft/Windows store. Outlook must be downloaded from your O365 account to be compatible with the Outlook Plug-in.

Outlook Plug-in vs. Outlook add-in

The Outlook Plug-in connects your Outlook calendar to Calendly to check for conflicts and add events. It is separate from the Outlook add-in, which allows you to share your scheduling links and availability from your Outlook toolbar.

How to install the Plug-in

NOTE: you must be logged in to Calendly to view the Plug-in link.

  1. Use this link to access the Plug-in file.
  2. Download the Plug-in and save the file. If you see a security pop-up, be sure to allow permissions to begin installing. Depending on your browser, you may need to locate and open the downloaded file to run the installation.
  3. Calendly will generate a unique key for you to copy and paste into your Plug-in settings. Enter your Plug-in key.
  4. Select which calendar accounts you would like to check for conflicts. Any busy events added to these calendars are considered unavailable times and removed from your scheduling page.
  5. Choose the calendar you would like newly scheduled events to be added to and save the changes.
  6. Select Save.

Syncing the Outlook Plug-in

To begin communication between the Plug-in and your events, click Sync Now in the bottom left corner of the Plug-in window. The date and time will appear to show that your events have synced between Outlook and your Calendly account.

The Plug-in will only sync when it is running in the background and your computer is connected to the internet. Because of this, you can only connect one plug-in per account.

Basic troubleshooting

Most unexpected Plug-in behaviors can be attritbuted to your Plug-in version. You should confirm that you are using the most up-to-date version of the Outlook Plug-in. Our current version is 170.

  1. Select the upwards-facing arrow in your Windows taskbar to Show hidden icons.
  2. From there, look for an item listed with the Calendly logo.
  3. If you do not see an instance of the Outlook Plug-in running in your taskbar, use your PC's search bar to search for and open the Calendly Plug-in for Outlook.calendlyforoutlook.gif
