What can I do with this integration?
You can create Smart Lists, Campaigns, and Programs in Marketo using Calendly triggers for routing form submitted and/or event scheduled. Use fields in these activities to create filters or constraints in your criteria.
Will Calendly create people/leads in Marketo when routing forms are submitted and/or events are scheduled?
No, Calendly will only update activity on people records if the email used in the routing form and/or the scheduled event matches a people record that already exists in your Marketo account.
What makes this integration better than previous automations I may have set up?
If you're syncing Calendly event data to Salesforce first, and then from Salesforce to Marketo, that data flow can take anywhere from 7 minutes to an hour. With this integration, Calendly event data will instantly flow directly to Marketo once a routing form is submitted or an event is scheduled so your campaigns can run immediately.
Do I have to connect my Marketo form to Calendly and use Calendly routing to take advantage of this integration?
No, you can still take advantage of syncing scheduled event data to Marketo regardless of if you’re using Calendly routing. Because Calendly Submit Routing Form and Calendly Schedule Event are two separate activities, Calendly will send activity to Marketo any time one of these actions are taken.
How does this impact API calls to Marketo?
Calendly will send two API calls per activity triggered. If a routing form is submitted we will send an API call to do an email lookup to see if this person exists and another API call to add the form submitted activity. Similarly, if an event is scheduled Calendly will send an API call to Marketo to do an email lookup with the email used to schedule the meeting and another API call to add the event scheduled activity.
How are Calendly Schedule Event activities logged when multiple people schedule a Group event for the same date and time?
Because Calendly treats people scheduling a Group event as individual actions, activities will also be logged individually, even if these people are attending the same Group event. Meaning, if Person A and Person B book a Group event for the same date and time, one activity will be logged for Person A and a separate second activity will be logged for Person B.
How are Calendly Schedule Event activities logged when a person schedules a Collective event with multiple Calendly hosts?
A single activity will be logged and the event details will include the name of the Collective event and the host will be the name of the Calendly user’s whose calendar was used to send the invitation.
